Introduced on 9th September 2014 and officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show later that month, the Mercedes-AMG GT is a two-door, two-seater fastback coupé and roadster produced by Mercedes-AMG. Following the SLS AMG, it's the second sports car developed in-house by the brand. Available in two performance variations - the GT and the GT S - both models went on sale in March 2015. A racing variant is expected to be released in 2016. All variants are assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. The GT has a power output of 340 kW (462 PS; 456 bhp) and 600 N·m (443 lb·ft) of torque, while the GT S offers 375 kW (510 PS; 503 bhp) and 650 N·m (479 lb·ft) of torque. As Formula 1's current safety car, the GT S made its debut in that role at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix.
