A redesign of the Z-axis components was implemented to enhance the Z-axis mounts' strength. The Z motor mount was made thicker as it previously cracked easily. The bottom Z mount is more stable and now holds a 608 bearing for an 8mm drive shaft. Additionally, the bottom Z mount has been moved from sitting on the table surface and M5 nut captures were added. The z clamps differ, being shorter than standard Mendelmax Z-clamps. All hardware remains the same, except two extra M5 10mm screws are required for the bottom Z-mount. Initially, x4 M5 14mm screws were used for clamps but may vary depending on existing hardware. A Solidworks file has been added as of February 15, 2012 for further design reference.
