For eco-friendly printing, use PLA instead of regular plastic. I achieved impressive strength with two perimeters, two solid layers, and 30% infill for a 1kg spool; a 5kg spool should be no problem. Follow these instructions to assemble your MendelMax: print two copies, loosely attach them to the top using 20mm M8 or 3/4" 5/16" screws with one 608zz in each hole and nuts. Adjust for proper spool fit before tightening the screws.
