MendelMax SCV8UU Y-Carriage
thingiverse
The SCV8UU linear bearing block is a superior alternative to laser or printed MendelMax Y-Carriage. It simplifies the design by eliminating the two-stage print platform, replacing it with a single piece that sits directly on the SCV8UU's flat surface. The Y-Axis belt securely clamps onto the SCV8UU to transmit linear motion to the print platform. A complete MendelMax 1.5 kit including the SCV8UU Y-Carriage is available from Blomker Industries (http://stores.ebay.com/Blomker-Industries). For a video demonstration, visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oZWGwWIWXo&feature=youtu.be. Pairing the SCV8UU with Jmil's Compact Y Rod Holders (Thing:24510) is ideal as it positions the print platform slightly above the front aluminum extrusion, allowing for smooth sliding movement without restricting the Y-Axis travel distance. To assemble, you will need 4 SCV8UU blocks, 2 M3(35mm) bolts, 2 M3 nuts, a printed T5 Belt Clamp for SCV8UU, and a print platform made of either 3mm aluminum plate or 9mm MDF.
