Tired of the frustration caused by tangles, I developed these innovative guides to ensure seamless feeding and quality prints. These guides offer two configurations for the upper guide: a fixed curved rail and a rotating wheel, both designed for 3mm filament. The rotating guide wheel can also accommodate 1.75mm filaments, making it versatile and practical. The side-mount spool holder is compatible with most standard filament spools, making installation effortless. To enhance printing efficiency, I added an update in January 2014, introducing a dual-wheel upper guide and dual-bearing lower guide to minimize friction and optimize part quality. **Building the Rotating Upper Filament Guide Wheel:** To construct this component, you'll need the following essential parts: - 2 x M8 x 30mm SHCS - 2 x M8 nut - Approximately 4 x M8 washers - 4 x 608 bearings For a successful assembly, print two wheels. For optimal results, position 3-4 washers between the two bearings in each wheel. This setup prevents over-tightening the M8 screw and damaging the bearings. **Assembling the Lower Filament Guide:** To assemble this critical part, gather the necessary components: - 2 x 608 bearings - 3 x M8 x 30mm SHCS Carefully thread the bearings through the tapped holes; secure with screws. All other parts require minimal assembly and can be completed easily, ensuring a flawless printing experience.
