MendelMax 3 Z axis Magnetic Isolators New Version
thingiverse
I designed experimental isolators that use neodymium magnets to secure them together. They hold the couplers firmly during printing but release instantly when a bed crash occurs. The magnets have a diameter of 1/4" and a length of 3/8". They can simply be pressed into place. Update: Upon reevaluation, I prefer the original parts over the new version. The revised components seem to allow for too much movement, which is undesirable. Recommendations: - Printing settings should include any resolution. - Shell counts of 3 or 4, combined with an infill level of 30%, would yield optimal results. - Press the magnets firmly into place. - Mine pressed in without resistance. - Once prepared, install and print your experimental isolators.
