The groove height on groove mount barrels may differ and creating a 3D printed yoke can be challenging. E3D's version is surprisingly larger than others. This template simplifies the process of making custom thickness shims for a MendelMax 2's MaxStruder extruder. The standard top holder design relies on precise building. To use different plastic shim stock thicknesses, cut them with an engraving laser or hobby knife. Use a shim or stack of shims that fit snugly in the barrel's groove mount without distorting the material or barrel. Note that some files are in inches while others might be in millimeters.
