If you're having trouble cutting a single piece of aluminum, try using one that was printed. I found success with an ABS printed piece with solid fill for added strength. To create it, I modified a DXF file from the MendelMax 2.0 parts repository. I'm satisfied with its performance on my still-under-construction MendelMax 2.0 and am hoping others will find this useful. Any modifications can be made to the attached Sketchup STL file.
