MendelMax 1.5 Modified Z End Stop Screw Mount

If you own a MendelMax 1.5 with the old-fashioned rod clamps for the X, Y, and Z end stops, these objects are extremely helpful: XYZ End Stops for MendelMax 1.5+. However, if you're like me and have a MendelMax 1.5 with outdated end stops, but want to use an exceptional Z end stop mount without having to print entirely new carriages, then this object is perfect for you! While it's easy to use the old Z end stop switch rod clamp to hold the screw, I found mine to be somewhat suboptimal and not really suitable for long-term use. This rod clamp securely clamps onto both X rods, keeping the Z end stop screw snugly in place and at the right height. To utilize them, you will need to print two of these objects. This design is intended to fit on the 50mm center-to-center X/Z carriages of a MendelMax 1.5 series printer with 8mm X rods. YMMV, caveat emptor, etc. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: MendelMax 1.5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 20% Notes: These objects can be printed in ABS or PLA. The nut traps may be too shallow for your Z screw nuts. Unless an updated model is available, a small drop of cyanoacrylic glue will help ensure that they stay seated properly once sunk into the trap.
