I sat down and created my own design using Autodesk 123D software. This custom design is for an acrylic version of Mendel90, featuring a gap of exactly 6.2 millimeters. My printer perfectly accommodates the standard 6mm acrylic sheets I use. The white plastic tube used here is 32mm PVC, available at any local hardware store nearby. Excessive friction between the roll and the tube can be addressed by applying a thin layer of lubricant on top of the PVC tube – a trick that works beautifully, and even eliminates the need for additional ball bearings.
