Mendel X Axis Motor Bracket
thingiverse
The initial Mendel X bracket design had a compact structure but necessitated the belt to follow a winding route with tight radii and reversals in direction, resulting in belt breakage. However, the revamped version has a larger layout that reduces the likelihood of belt failure; it has been tested successfully on about eight Mendel printers without any signs of belt wear. To install this new bracket, the X-axis ground rods should measure 463 mm in length. Additionally, the X-axis spacers, two sets of bearings, and associated fasteners are no longer required. The motor is now secured using four shorter M3 x 12 cap screws instead of the original configuration. Finally, the belt needs to be attached inside out compared to the previous setup, which also necessitates reversing the motor direction.
