To operate my RepRap Mendel with a 12V, 5A power brick, I customized an OpenSCAD XLR Bracket design. This versatile model is parameterized to accommodate standard coaxial power plug sockets as well. To use a coaxial socket, set plug_diameter=8 and type=\"COAX\". A suitable choice for this modification is the Switchcraft 712A coaxial power socket from Mouser. To achieve this, you will need mendel.inc and mendel.conf files from the Parameterized Mendel git repository on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3118).
