Mendel OpenX Carriage Bling
thingiverse
Featuring a drop-in replacement for the standard Mendel x-carriage, this design is inspired by Buback's OpenX Carriage and incorporates several modifications. These enhancements include an integrated belt tensioner, fan mounting, and some artistic features for a blingy look. The carriage has been designed to accommodate 40mm+ square space for larger profile extruders while maintaining style. To assemble the carriage, gather qty 8 M4 nuts, qty 10 shortish M4 screws, qty 2 longish M4 screws, qty 2 M4 washers per bearing, and additional adjustable washers. You'll also need qty 6 M3 screws (assuming fan mounted), qty 6 M3 nuts, and qty 10 M3 washers. Additionally, qty 10 cartridge bearings are required. Print the "plate" file to obtain all necessary parts. Install components as shown in provided images. Although the pictures display an older revision with a different fan mount and a poorly calibrated printer, this design should still function effectively. Enhancements have resulted in improved print quality. This x-carriage is specifically built for the Budaschnozzle (LulzBot version), as seen on the RepRap wiki.
