Mendel Mono/Tricolor Y-motor mount with 608 bearing idler
thingiverse
Originally, the maker couldn't find a suitable mount for their Y-motor on a Mendel printer and so designed their own version. The design included a 608 bearing with the belt running parallel to the print bed, almost. It featured slots that allowed tilting of the motor to adjust belt tension and grooves that accepted washers for even load distribution when tightening down the motor. Version 1 was released, but a recent update revealed an oversight in accounting for washer height in the mounting screw grooves, resulting in a protruding middle screw that rubbed against the belt. This issue has been rectified with a deeper groove version uploaded. The creator plans to run the improved model and may make further changes later on. A matching set of belt guides is available at thingiverse.com/thing:219022. In addition, a slight facelift was recently applied to enhance the mount's aesthetics. Updates are regularly made as needed for continuous improvement.
