Mendel microswitch/opto holder in OpenSCAD w nut traps
thingiverse
The Y bar clamp's design includes a shelf for attaching optical or mechanical limit sensors, suitable for both metric and imperial measurements. This innovative feature allows users to experiment with non-standard endstop mechanisms like microswitches. To assemble, securely fasten the clamp onto an 8mm or 5/16" rod using two M4x40 bolts with washers and trapped nuts spaced diagonally. Glue a sensor onto the platform for proper alignment with the activator. For optimal performance, use small lever-action microswitches soldered to a board with a connector and a 100K resistor (brown-black-yellow) to regulate current flow when connected to either 5V or ground.
