Redesigning an old Makerbot's y-stage, a user has shared two versions of their new design to accommodate different makerbots. Parametric modeling made it easy to change dimensions for the new rods. Testing revealed the new design is silent and can handle rod variability better than the current one. The only issue remaining is finding an ideal way to attach and arrange the drive belt. Future plans include reworking the x-stage and refining y-bar arrangement. Videos of early testing are available for viewing. There were initial flaws in batch 7 design, but these have been fixed in updated files. Required hardware is listed, and Solidworks files are provided for further perusal.
