Mendel Frame Vertex - Aced
thingiverse
Introducing an optimized key component for RepRap Mendel - the frame corner bracket. This latest iteration boasts minimal warping and easy printing while conserving plastic material. After weeks of testing various designs, this final version stands out. Compared to its predecessors, it reduces footprint by 0.5cc, significantly lessening warping. When printed with ABS and a raft (no heated bed), warp measures under 2mm; in PLA, it's virtually non-existent. Printing on a Makerbot is facilitated by rotating the part 45° to minimize footprint size and maximize raft area for better warping control. Note that this is a rough Meshlab adaptation of Rhys' original design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3904), with a cleaner version potentially released in future, but with minimal design changes.
