To prevent filament friction against the 8mm threaded rod, mount a leftover 8mm smooth bar using printable Mendel Filament Guide brackets on both sides. Cut a 30cm piece of the smooth bar and place it over the filament, securing its ends to top bars at front and back. This ensures smooth filament feeding while the extruder head moves horizontally.
