This memorial statue portraying Jesus is part of a well-known tomb located within the Monumental Cemetery of Milan. The Monumental Cemetery is more than just a simple cemetery; it's an extraordinary outdoor museum where some of the greatest sculptors from the 1900s came together to elaborate and reflect on a particularly challenging theme, death itself. The cemetery comprises three distinct areas: the central zone features the tombs of Catholic families and individuals, while the area to the right, facing the facade, is reserved for Jewish people, and the left area is dedicated to non-Catholics. From an architectural standpoint, you can notice both Romanic and Gothic influences.
