The monument honoring President Osvoboditel Tomáš G. Masaryk was unveiled on a square in Bohunice on August 29, 1937. The location was chosen by the local municipal committee at the suggestion of Jan Sobota, a Bohunist legionnaire, on November 3, 1936. A bronze bust of Masaryk was designed by Václav Hynek Mach, a Czech technique expert, and crafted into place on a pedestal made from Silesian granite by A. Hladík. The dimensions of the pedestal are 110 x 110 x 16 cm, while the column stands at 50 x 50 x 250 cm high with a bust board measuring 38 x 38 x 6 cm in size. Masaryk's signature is etched onto the facade of the column. The surrounding garden was carefully designed and maintained by the city's gardening administration.
