Memorial College Bus (Mawlamyine) GCC
sketchfab
This project holds a special place in my heart as a cherished memory of my college student life. Canadian-built Chevrolet C-15 trucks were once used for public transportation in Myanmar, now known as Burma. These buses originated from the British Army, who heavily relied on them from approximately 1939 until Burma's independence in 1948. Following the British departure, many of these trucks remained, allowing the Burmese to repurpose them into wood-body buses. In Yangon, they were nicknamed "39 Bite Pu," which translates to "39 BigBelly." My model hails from Mawlamyine and boasts a slightly distinct style compared to its Yangon counterpart.
