I've successfully connected my 40mm fan to a 12-volt power source, just like the Melzi v2.3 payment setup. However, there are some key differences between this and other Melzi payments - so pay close attention! I've wired the fan in parallel with the heater chain, which can be directly connected to the power supply unit. If you take a closer look through the lattice cover, you should see the light-emitting diode shining brightly. You can actually replicate this setup for your own Melzi v2.0 payment by following my lead.
