Melzi Board USB Clamp
thingiverse
I designed a clamp to reduce stress on the USB socket of my Melzi Controller Board after having to resolder it multiple times. The stress was becoming excessive. To build this clamp, I used an M3 8mm cap screw and an M3 20mm cap screw, along with one M3 washer and two M3 nuts. If you have longer screws, that is perfectly fine. The clamp attaches to the mounting hole in the corner of my board. It's a simple process. Please note: This clamp blocks the micro SD card slot. I consider this a feature rather than a bug. In reality, I rarely use the micro SD card on my board. However, if you need to swap it frequently, then this design may not be for you.
