Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is a pioneering 3D portrait studio that debuted on June 8, 2013 at Danbury Makerfaire using ReconstructMe and an Xbox Kinect. The scanning rig, named Scan-O-Tron 3000, had its public introduction at this event, with impressive results. In the future, a Kickstarter for Scan-A-Rama will be launched along with open sourcing of the plans. Look out for the popup studio's presence at various MakerFaires and Coney Island throughout 2013. When printing the scans, a layer height of .27 or .1 mm is recommended without support, although minor trimming might be necessary.
