I have a cheaper version of this static model that requires no special moving parts, available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2623144. I highly recommend it. This model was printed on a Prusa i3 and an Ultimaker 2 Extended using PLA and PETG. It's a replica of Mei's robot from Overwatch, Snowball, which she throws when she casts her ultimate ability, Blizzard. To make this model more dynamic, I added a lazy susan part that allows the bottom and top to rotate, although I've included a non-rotating connector here. If I can locate the lazy susan part again, I'll link it and upload the connector for that version. To assemble the model, simply screw the head to the connector_B.stl, then attach magnets to both the head (connector_B.stl) and bottom (bottom.stl). Print Settings: Printer Brand: Prusa Printer Model: Prusa Steel Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .15mm Infill: 25% Notes: Quantities: 2x Flap 2x Flap (mirrored) 3x Thrust 2v One of every other part Post-Printing: To attach the flaps, I created a single file and printed each version twice. I connected them with 3mm screws and super glue. For the magnets, I added a margin of 0.1mm to account for my printer's quirks, so you may need to use glue to secure them in place. Magnets: Quantity x Diameter x Height 8 x 8mm x 4mm 6 x 5mm x 3mm Note that the 8mm magnets might be overkill for the top of his head; consider using 8mm x 2mm instead. To connect the head to the bottom, I used #10 screws and nuts; a 5mm screw would also work. Every part was sanded up to 3000 grit, and holes were filled with filler material. The model is currently being painted and has electronics fitted; I'll upload code and configuration once it's complete. To Do: Fit a Raspberry Pi, screen, and other electronics Work on some light diffusers for the thrusters and update when designs are ready Get servos for the flaps Update with a complete non-printed parts list.
