Mego Buck Earth Defense Directorate and Draconian Pistols for 3.75" Figures

When Mego launched their 3.75" action figure line in 1979 for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, each of the figures had a glaring omission - no accessories! Yes, some figures did include non-removable holstered weapons, but no individual raygun or blaster accessories for Buck and Wilma to shoot it out with their Draconian adversaries! Today, we're going to rectify that. Included are three simple designs - a Draconian pistol, an Earth Defense Directorate pistol, and a separate version with a more accurate grip for the Earth Defense Directorate pistol. I deliberately designed these to be more toy-like and simplified rather than a super-accurate scaled down version because it will fit with the line better. That being said, they are still more accurate than those included with comparable Battlestar Galactica line by Mattel. The oval shaped handles should work fine with vintage Mego 3.75" figures and I have tested them with Dr. Huer, Tigerman, Kane, Draco, Ardala, and the Draconian Guard. Please be aware that Mego was rather inconsistent about their hand sculpting and they may not fit perfectly on all figures in either hand. For example, Draco can hold it fine in his left hand but not his right, and Tigerman can hold it in his right but not his left. Both of these were due to the way the hands on these figures were sculpted and they were not consistent like the later Hasbro GI Joe figures. The more accurate grip version of the Earth Defense Directorate is for figures with custom hands. I own two Buck figures and two Wilma figures, and all of them had at least one broken hand that I replaced with a more modern peg style. Due to the size of the part, I would recommend printing this in resin. Best of luck in completing your custom figure! LICENSE NOTES: Please note that the license for this model is non-commercial.
