A fossilized mackerel shark tooth, identified as Otodus obliquus, resides in the Natural History Society of Maryland's extensive collection of ancient relics. This tooth, a relic from the Paleocene Era, is estimated to have originated approximately 60 million years ago. The distinctive feature of this tooth lies in its prominent cusps situated on either side and the fact that it lacks serrations.
