A Carcharodon angustidens tooth, a massive species of shark now extinct, forms part of the Natural History Society of Maryland's extensive fossil collection. This formidable predator roamed during the Oligocene and Miocene Epochs, with an estimated lifespan spanning approximately 33 to 22 million years ago. The distinctive diagnostic feature of this tooth is two small serrated cusps positioned on either side of the tooth.\nProvided by the Natural History Society of Maryland, which has graciously granted permission for this model to be downloadable for non-commercial educational use.
