Megalodon Scanned Fossil Tooth
thingiverse
Like the name suggests, this is a scanned tooth of an extinct Megalodon giant shark, courtesy of www.lamna.se for lending me the original fossil. The tooth was scanned using a semi-pro DSLR camera and a trial version of Agisoft Photoscan - it's like magic! I edited it with meshlab and Sketchup. Enjoy this amazing model! Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Ormerod 2 Rafts: Not necessary, but you can use them if you want Supports: Yes, I recommend using supports for a strong print Resolution: Choose whatever resolution you like, and the printer will take care of it Infill: You decide how much infill you want - more is better, but also slower Notes: I printed mine with support positioned like the STL file, and it turned out great. The original size of this tooth is about 10cm long.
