Mega Tron i3

This is my first custom 3D printer and I decided to call him, Mega Tron. As you can see, the design is heavily inspired by Transformers. The original goal of this machine was to serve as an upgrade from my old Folgertech 2020 i3 but you you can just build this from scratch if you like. If you are looking for a cheapish but extreamly capable machine to build, this might be the right one for you.

Update 2/14/2021 - Fixed Z tops as the X ends would hit them resulting in a loss of 20mm Z height.

F3Z file: https://a360.co/2WrmvTa

There are several options for this printer so look at the Fusion 360 model before you start printing. Some of those options include:

34 - 42mm tall Z motors

Intergrated Lead Screw Z motors or standard motors with a flex coupler

Multi Material/Multi Color Foot/LCD and PSU mount

Full 2020 frame or optional 2040 front/back X

MK52 Prusa MK3 Mag Bed or a Fysetc Ender 3 Mag Bed

Any Z height you want (all depends on the setup, integrated vs coupler, and length you buy)
You'll notice the Fusion model looks odd because the left side shows an integrated lead screw and the right shows a standard Nema 17 with a flex coupler.

This printer is optimized for a SRK 1.3 TMC 2209 drivers for sensor-less homing

I'm riding on the backs for giants for many of these parts. The largest part is the Bear X axis and Extruder which were created by Greg. You can find his files here: https://github.com/gregsaun/bear\_extruder\_and\_x\_axis
I'm using all of his parts except for a remixed Extruder Body which was remixed by one of my Patrons to fit my 12mm sensor. (remixed file is in this thing)

I also have to give a big shout out to my Patron, Aaron, who spent many hours with me in Discord designing these parts. I came up with some basic ideas or deigns, and then he would make it look 10x better. Thanks dude!! Check out his designs here: thingiverse.com/evolwun/designs

I don't have all the bolt sizes needed but if you have an assortment of M4/M5 x 8/10/12mm bolts, you are good to go. I'm using cheap T-Slot extrusion with hammered T-Nuts.

I will have a BOM list for the parts and electronics soon.

Everything is printed in PETG with the exception of the feet, those are printed in TPU.

There is a Zip file which contains the multi-color parts if you have an MMU or Palette. I think they add a nice touch to the printer but if you don't have it, I have added single color options or, for the PSU, a no logo option.

Other parts used for this build:
Spool holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3840176
Reverse Bowden Tube mount for extruder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4194892
Y Belt Tensioner: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3069061 (Not 100% happy with this but it works.)
Raspberry Pi 3 Mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4567756

If you have any questions, feel free to comment here or contact me on my Discord server.
