Super-Enhanced Mini Tape Gun: This version accommodates a standard 3-inch roll of packing tape. Post-Fabrication Solder the components together with hot glue. File and polish the cutting edges using a metal file and a flame torch to create sharpness. Pound the end caps firmly onto the spool using a hammer. Apply lubricant to the threaded parts. Design Considerations The mini tape roll from the original version measures 1 inch in inner diameter and 0.5 inches in thickness. The large tape roll features an increased dimension of 3 inches in inner diameter and 2 inches in thickness. I magnified the print dimensions by a factor of 2.994 / 1.020 on the X-Y axis, and scaled the Z-axis dimensions to 1.916 / 0.494 for proportionate scaling. Software Utilized Meshmixer, OpenSCAD, and Netfabb were employed to precision-cut and scale the individual components. The roller component was crafted entirely in OpenSCAD from scratch.
