Mega Rollerz - Anycubic i3 Mega spool holder
thingiverse
I tried to find a spool holder for my i3 mega but did not end up with one that worked as I wanted, so here we are again and designed one that was more suited for what I need. So I wanted a roller model and after the first few prototypes, I ended up with this. The covers on the front of the rollers prevent the filament from riding the rollers as it feeds. There isn't much force on the individual rollers, but I added additional support to the inside to compensate if they start to shift over time. It snaps into place in a satisfactory way, and I hope other frames don't deviate too much. There are two variants of this spool holder: 1. The first one (Frame_through_hole) uses a normal through hole for an M8 x 25mm hex bolt with a nut on the other side. 2. The second version (Frame_tappable) taps the hole with an M8 thread, and it would be optimal to use an M8 x 18mm hex bolt, but I ended up using an M8 x 16mm hex bolt instead, and it works just fine. Mirror the other side in your slicer. To assemble this spool holder, you will need: - Four M8 hex bolts x 25mm for fastening with a nut or an M8 x 16 - 18mm if threading the holes - Appropriate tools
