Mega Prusa Y idler - bearing housing
pinshape
I had some issues aligning the belt with the idler, so the belt was falling from the bearing and thus wearing out. Thanks to Aldric Negrier, who suggested looking at a design on Thingiverse made by JulioHCD for a 624zz bearing, which I remade to fit the 608 bearing used on Mega Prusa Y idlers. I definitely wanted to use the Y belt idler provided by Aldric Negrier because every part is mounted and didn't want to unmount the rods on the idler side. Read instructions carefully for optimal print of these parts! Printed in PLA, 0.2 layer height, 2 shells/0.8mm - Cura (use this if you have a 0.4 nozzle like me - the parts are made for this nozzle size and 2 shells), fill 100%. Clean surfaces with a rasp and make small chamfers. No clearance is left between housings so glue isn't needed; push hard and be careful not to break parts. Once fitted together, gently push arms of idler apart so bearing+housing fits between two bearing brims. Mounting order: 608 bearing -> y belt guide small 608 -> y belt guide big 608 -> y idler
