Meet Mat 2 Contest | Happy New Year

Hi everyone, I'm a junior from China and this is my first time participating in a competition like this one. The timing couldn't be more perfect as the Spring Festival is just around the corner, and I've chosen to base my entry on traditional Chinese culture during this festive season. With Substance Painter handling all textures, including rendering, and some alpha processing done through Photoshop, I'm excited to share my new take on our meetmat2. In China, red and gold are symbols of good fortune, which is why they're prominently featured in my design. The intricate mouse pattern represents the year of the rat, while the traditional characters on the head mean "recruit wealth and treasure." The pocket is called "Li Shi," a term that resonates deeply during the Spring Festival as we receive "Lishi" from our elders, containing money and blessings. For inspiration, I drew upon the iconic Chinese drum, whose imagery has become synonymous with the festive season's drumming rituals. However, my true wish for you all is a happy new year and good luck in your endeavors.
