I came across some really cool carabiners on Thingiverse and decided to give it a shot. After two attempts, I finally created something that made me happy. I want to thank Charlie1982 for the gate mechanics idea, which I used as inspiration. If I can come up with my own design, I might try reworking it. My carabiner is slightly smaller than most similar ones. Since I haven't performed any strength tests yet, feel free to do so and let everyone know what you find out. As for the two versions, they have the same base carabiner but one has a simple chamfered edge while the other features a 'rib' running down the middle on either side. The gate is compatible with both models. I found that the gate fits a little snugly on the ribbed one, but a bit of sanding will fix it. Maybe I'll trim it a bit later. The chamfered model requires no supports, while the ribbed one and the gate need some sort of support. I printed these with a simple skirt at .2mm layer height, 50% infill, and six wall layers (maybe a bit too many).
