Meditation with Arms

I am thrilled to be part of a thriving community of makers here in Portland, Oregon. We call ourselves Layer Geeks and even have a club on meetup.com called the “Portland 3D printing lab” where we enthusiastically discuss 3D printing and push each other to create innovative projects. Our favorite pastime is collaborating on fun projects like 3D printing a life-size cow, #crowdcow. One of my standout projects was 3D scanning the Cantor foundation's statues made from Auguste Rodin's works at the Portland Art Museum's request. With focus and precision, I guided my iPad equipped with the Structure scanner from Occipital to capture the intricate details of the statues in real-time on the iPad screen. The recorded scans were then refined and cleaned up using Autodesk's Meshmixer application. I feel grateful to the Portland Art Museum for making this project possible and allowing me to share these 3D scans with my fellow makers. I highly recommend visiting "Auguste Rodin: The Human Experience" exhibit, which is ongoing through April 2017. I invite you to join in on the fun by creating your own 3D printed versions of the statues or gifting them to friends and family. Together, let's be part of the maker movement!
