A guisarme is a medieval pole weapon with a head consisting primarily of a spike for stabbing and a hook for yanking cavaliers off of their horses. This guisarme prop is based on a traditional design, adapted to sort of resemble the one used by castle guards in Victor Fleming's The Wizard of Oz. I made 16 of these for use in a ballet.

The head is 370mm long, printed in three parts: fore, mid, and aft. Recommended layer height is 0.32mm, infill is 45%, and the "avoid crossing perimeters" option makes the threads come out better.

Assembly:

Cut three lengths of 3mm-diameter carbon-fiber rod: 296mm, 135mm, and 41mm.

Pour boiling water into the aft piece to soften the threads. Then pour it out and thread the piece onto a broom handle. When fully screwed on, it'll cover the top 67mm of the handle.

Pour boiling water into the rod holes of the aft piece, then insert rods. The 296mm rod goes at the back and the 135mm at the front.

Pour boiling water into both holes at the aft end of the mid piece. Then shove it down over the rods extending from the aft piece.

Pour boiling water into the open hole at the fore end of the mid piece, then insert the 41mm rod.

Pour boiling water into the two holes in the fore piece. Then shove it onto the rods extending from the mid piece.

Pull the three pieces apart slightly, separating them by about 20mm.

Mix a small amount of epoxy. Spread it thinly on the mating surfaces and the exposed rod sections.

Press the pieces together and wipe off any excess epoxy.

Allow the epoxy to cure and the remaining water to drip out of the aft piece.
