Medieval Shoulder Armor V2 (Print and Play)
thingiverse
After successfully printing and finalizing five kids' shoulder armor and one adult's design, I ponder how to eliminate the need for post-printing processing. The result is this innovative design. This last-minute Halloween prop is a fantastic solution since once printed, simply pop it up from the bed, and you're ready to go! To enable printing in one piece without the need for glue, I've replaced the round pivot cover with a shield-shaped one. I've also added two small holes on top of the outer plate to facilitate direct sewing or easily attach a leather piece. Check out my other medieval prop designs at http://www.thingiverse.com/Stonedge/designs. I hope you'll find this design impressive! Here are the print settings: Printer: Tevo tarantula with large bed and Flsun Kossel Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed at a scale of 60-65% for my kid and 85% for myself. Scale example: Scaled at 60%, the internal distance between pivot points is 145mm; scaled at 65%, it's 155mm. Post-printing process: The design looks great when using silver filament, but since I've run out of silver, I printed it in black and found it to be amazing! To prepare the armor for wear, use a small screwdriver or long nose pliers to remove the pivot support, then do the same with all other support triangles. Free the pivot by hand or using a hood clamp like shown in the picture (works best but is optional). Finally, free up all the armor plates and use a gold permanent marker to highlight details if printed in silver (optional). Enjoy wearing it with pride!
