The central Italy Benedectine Abbey of Farfa, constructed in the 8th century, features a notable portal. This historic entrance served as the main access point to the abbey. King Carlo Magno stopped here before journeying to Rome for his imperial nomination on December 25, 800. The portal was completed around 750 AD during the abbey's construction. Two textures are used for representation: farfa02porta.jpg (60 Kb, 962x1282px) and st-romanico_farfa02 (355 Kb, 962x1282px).
