Medieval Great Helm Low-poly 3D model

Human: High-end low-poly model of a medieval helmet with 2K physically based rendering (PBR) textures crafted for real-world scale (metric system). The model boasts two distinct texture set options, each designed to replicate worn but undamaged and battered and slightly rusted appearances. The medieval great helm gained widespread acceptance among European knights and men-at-arms during the beginning of the 13th century, lasting in popularity until at least the mid-14th century when it evolved into the frog-mouth helmet. Originally referred to as pot helms or barrel helmets, these conical-shaped head protectors often featured cloth padding beneath them. Additional defense came from a mail coif or steel cap worn underneath the great helm, which provided enhanced protection over earlier helmets at the cost of reduced visibility and increased heat during warm weather conditions. Due to these limitations, it became customary for knights and soldiers to wear the great helm only while charging or in situations where missile attacks posed significant danger. When engaging in melee combat, however, the helmet was often suspended by its strap for improved sightlines, relying on the coif or metal cap for protection. Built specifically for use with Unity 5 and Unreal Engine 4 game engines but compatible with others, this detailed model and textures were crafted using Blender and Substance Painter. The PBR textures are optimized for each respective engine to enhance visual authenticity within digital environments. Preview images were rendered using the advanced capabilities of Iray. Detailed Specifications * Polygon count: 2655 vertices * Face count: 3079 * Triangle count: 5434 File Formats --------------- Available file formats include: Autodesk FBX (.fbx) * OBJ (.obj) Collada (.dae) 3D Studio (.3ds) Blender (.blend) (*) Three different FBX-files are included, one in standard PBR MetalRough and the other two optimized for Unity 5 and Unreal Engine 4 respectively. Materials & Textures -------------------- This UV-mapped model features a single material with three distinct physics-based textures, each provided in two separate variants tailored to various game engines and platforms. The files are stored in their respective texture formats: png (.png), with dimensions of 2048 x 2048 pixels (8-bit color depth) and named for clear distinction.
