Medieval Gargoyle (Montemor-o-Novo)
sketchfab
A mysterious gargoyle, carved from granite, likely originates from the ruins of Santa Maria do Bispo's Church within Montemor-o-Novo's Castle. This artifact is carefully preserved at the Montemor-o-Novo Archaeological Museum located inside Convent of São Domingos. Two human figures grasp each other in what initially appears to be a tender romantic scene, yet upon closer inspection, subtle erotic undertones become apparent, hinting at hidden details waiting to be discovered. The images were captured using Canon 5D Mk IV (35mm lens) and underwent extensive digital processing in Reality Capture. The process involved aligning, scaling, modeling, cleaning, simplifying, unwrapping, texturing, and meshing the data.
