Medieval Church, Calatrava la Nueva, Spain
sketchfab
Medieval church situated within the imposing Fortress of Calatrava La Nueva in Aldea del Rey, Ciudad Real, Spain. The castle/convent of Calatrava La Nueva was constructed in the 13th century to serve as the headquarters of the influential Order of Calatrava and is now one of Spain's most significant castles. Inside, a large three-nave church was built in an artistic style that blends elements of Romanesque, Gothic, and Islamic art influences. This fusion of styles, as well as constructive and decorative techniques, makes the church of Calatrava La Nueva a distinctive location. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Aldea del Rey City Council, and archaeologist Ana Segovia Fernández for their invaluable assistance and facilitation.
