This Medical Vein Finder was created by Excel TECC CADD Engineering Technology Seniors through a collaborative effort with the Excel TECC Medical Technologies Program. Engineered by students, for students, this project can be constructed by any secondary engineering or manufacturing program. Featuring a custom PC board, body made of PETG that can be printed and cleaned with alcohol, and onboard charging, this device can be built for under $50.00. UPDATE: Our three-student design team won a silver medal at the SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships in the Engineering Technology and Design contest for this project. You will need basic SMD (Surface-Mounted Device) assembly skills as well as basic fabrication skills to make the aluminum heatsink.
