Medical Trainer - Skull for Meningioma Resection

This model has been designed starting from anonymized 3D data obtained from CT scans of a real patient. Various 3D modeling software has been used to perform various operations to obtain 3D printable files (see screenshots from printing service). The software systems used are: 1) Geomagic Design X; 2) Solidworks; The model is a medical trainer that can be used to simulate surgical removal of a meningioma (head tumour). 3D printing offers perfect capabilities to produce a high detailed model and faithfully mimic human tissue. The effectiveness of the trainer relies on its fidelity and precision. The trainer is composed of 4 layers with different aspects and properties: skin, skull bone, brain tissue and meningioma.
