I purchased some Media Sonic Proboxes, but wanted to change out the fans. The standard fans are 20x80mm, which is not a common size; to allow some 25mm static-pressure fans (for push operation) to be mounted, I used four of these, which are just cylinders with a hole in them, but they're enough to mount the new fan securely. The fan itself connects using a standard two-pin JST male interface, at 12V; adapting a case fan for this is pretty straightforward if you have the parts or are willing to dissect the stock fan, though that may affect its warranty. The heads of the stock screws are just small enough to pass through the M4 holes of most case-fans and there's enough space above to mount a grill if you're concerned about finger-slicing; I used https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3111632 just in case they were to get pushed up against a wall, but a flat design would work just as well. I also found that v2 of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2134903 works perfectly for mounting SSDs inside of the unit, if that's where your application might be headed.
