Media Shelf System

Media Shelf System

I wanted to create a custom look for the space under the TV mounted in my living room.  I was disappointed with the options available at many retail locations.  I like minimalist for most things, so I used OpenSCAD to create this.  I made two bracket lengths and I personally use a long bracket for the top shelf (flush with the top of the rail), and a short bracket for the bottom.  To me it just looks better.  If you have woodworking skills, you can use the rail cross section shape to cut out of your bottom shelf and it will sit flush on the wall.  I printed at .2 layer height, but I'm sure .3 would be fine, though I have not tested it.  The tolerance is very tight for the brackets to slide on the rail.Pictured is the prototype.  the files included are the “v2” revision with full size rails and updated bracket adjustment slots. gCode is for 3 instances of each object at 50% infill!
