Device to Add Media to 96-Well Filtration Plates This device is designed to fit standard filtration plates with a top dimension of approximately 125 x 83 mm. Each well adds about 150 microliters of media, making it an ideal tool for screening chemistry experiments. To assemble the device, cyanoacrylate glue is used. Holes in the knob and drop plate are carefully drilled to be about 2.5 mm in diameter. A manual threading process using a 4-40 screw is performed on these holes. The screw is cut to the appropriate size and a piece of compression spring is added before the knob, making it spring-loaded. This allows for easy adjustment of the "push length" by adjusting the screw and spring length. When adding silica to the filtration plate, it's essential to note that its small particle size can cause it to get stuck between the device's pieces. To prevent this, regular rinsing is necessary. The lifespan of this device remains uncertain, so frequent maintenance is crucial.
