Mechanical Vice

Mechanical Vice

grabcad

The creation of a Mechanical Vice was a straightforward process. Long-held, this project was revisited to perfect rendering techniques. At first, reluctance arose about sharing this project due to its seemingly artificial appearance, an unappealing sense that lingered about it. However, upon recognizing the harsh edges as the primary reason for its unconvincing look, the decision was made to subtly soften these lines by applying a slight "fillet", giving them a rounded edge in the process. This alteration produced an incredible impact - a transformative change from synthetic-looking to genuinely authentic! Observe that those initial raw STL files lacked fillets, all edges were sharp, yet these curved elements were carefully integrated during the assembly stage. Once more, practice proved valuable in mastering rendering techniques within this project.
