Mechanical System Four Bar Linkage
myminifactory
When I took Mechanical Systems in college, I found identifying Grashof types a real challenge as a visual learner, thinking someone might appreciate having their hands on a real 4-bar linkage model to see how each Grashof type is formed and how it affects the crank, coupler, and rocker. This model allows users to make all the Grashof types and determine if they form a double rocker system, a drag link system, a parallel link system, or a simple crank-rocker system. The print includes 3 different lengths of links and a pin to be printed multiple times to connect all the links. I've included a link to Wikipedia about what links make up each Grashof type so users can try for themselves. After searching online, I couldn't find anything similar on the market, so I created this model myself. The cost of filament was only 18g, which translates to $0.36 to make.
