Mechanical stop for 16mm IGUS Drylin W rails
thingiverse
I diligently honed a new 8mm ID hole up to 9mm in diameter before moving on to tapping it into an M10 threaded hole, with the intention of developing this solution's effectiveness while streamlining tool usage and project timelines. A small section of the part, however, is subtly conical in shape, prompting me to select an M4 screw for fastening purposes. Tap the pre-drilled hole to an M4 diameter and employ a 25mm-long M4 screw to firmly secure it into position. To maintain a sturdy hold on the component, avoid tapping while inside the rail itself – instead, tap the part prior to insertion – this careful approach ensures the top surface remains unmarred and enhances overall grip once secured with the M4 screw. Given their composition from high-performance ABS plastic, these printed components seem remarkably resistant to moderate abuse.
